Orpington Labour Party sends sympathy and support to the people of Manchester after Monday Night’s Terrorist Attack

To: Andy Burnham, Mayor Greater Manchester         24 May 2017

Dear Andy,
I write to convey the deepest sympathies of the Orpington Labour Party to the people of Manchester for the appalling terrorist attack  on Tuesday night. We feel particular sympathy for those killed and injured and the suffering their families and friends will have to endure. We also feel for many others whose suffering may not be immediately apparent but will surely follow as the  gravity of the attack sinks in.

At the same time we admire and applaud the inspiring reaction of the people of Manchester, particularly acknowledging those who were able to provide help and comfort to those most directly affected by the
tragedy. We are confident that, as evidenced in your speech to last night’s vigil,  you will provide the leadership and inspiration to see Manchester comes through this tragedy and emerges stronger than ever.

In great sadness but conveying our best wishes,
On behalf of the Orpington Labour Party,

Nigel de Gruchy, Secretary.
