Rest in Peace Keith Galley

Orpington Labour Party’s oldest member, Keith Galley, has sadly passed away. We send our deep condolences to Joyce and Michael.

Keith GalleyIt is with great sadness that Orpington Labour Party received news that Keith Galley had passed away on Thursday 20 November. Keith was 93 years old.

He was our most senior member in terms of age and length of membership. He had been in regular attendance at our CLP meetings until last summer when he fell ill and was taken to Princess Royal Hospital. Keith managed to rally and spent some time in rehabilitation. But had to return to hospital where he eventually died.

Keith leaves a widow, Joyce, another long standing member of the Orpington Labour Party, and one surviving son, Michael, to whom we send our deep condolences.

The funeral will take place on Wednesday 10 December at 1.30 pm at the Beckenham Crematorium, Elmers End Road, Beckenham BR3 4TD.

Joyce’s address is available from our secretary, Nigel de Gruchy, for members who may want to send their own messages of condolence.

Nigel de Gruchy added:

“Keith Galley gave a lifetime of devotion and commitment to the Labour Party. He held very strong views and never waivered in his beliefs and his determination to fight his corner. He remained active and alert to political developments until the end, as I discovered for myself when visiting him in hospital in the summer.”
