Remembrance Sunday in Orpington

At today’s Remembrance Sunday service at Orpington War Memorial, Nigel de Gruchy, Labour’s candidate for Orpington in the 2015 general election, laid a wreath on behalf of the Labour Party.

More than 4,000 people attended the Remembrance Sunday service held today at the Orpington War Memorial.

Among the crowd were a number of Labour Party members and Nigel de Gruchy, Labour’s candidate for Orpington in the 2015 general election, laid a wreath on behalf of the Labour Party.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War. Nigel de Gruchy said the anniversary made today’s commemoration “particularly significant”.
